Free Herringbone & Chevron Clip Art

Herringbone

Herringbone

Today I am trying to decide on a wallpaper for my home. I found this website pickawall which allows you to use your own photography or art for reusable wallpaper. This is fantastic if you can't find an already made wallpaper to suit your style, or for photography backdrops.

So I jumped into photoshop to design a grey and white herringbone pattern.

It turned out great, however for my wall I may need to make the lines a bit thicker. I decided to post it here for anyone to use the pattern for free for other arts like backgrounds in a few colours. Just don't forget to link back to my blog if you do!!

Over Sized Bow Tie Necklace - No Sew

Here is a cute over sized bow tie necklace. You could also make a smaller one if this is too big.

Step One Cut a square of fabric (depending on the size you want mine was roughly 24cm x 24cm )

Step Two  With the back of the fabric facing upwards, paint a line of mod podge along the centre length ways. Fold the top long edge of the fabric over to the middle. Then take the bottom of the fabric and meet this in the middle.
Step Three  Fold the outside edges into the centre and secure with mod podge.

Step Four  Flip over fabric and pinch it in the centre to create little folds, place mod podge in between folds and pinch again.

Step Five  Get another long strip of fabric, thinner than the square you started with and complete steps two and three.

Step Six  Wrap the fabric around the centre of the bow and secure at the back with mod podge.

Step Seven  Pierce the two top corners to create a hole big enough for a jump ring. I used a mini hook to do this.

Step Eight  Secure a jump ring in each hole and place through the ring of a necklace. Secure shut jump ring with pliers.

And You're Done!!

Men's B&W Gift Cards

I always find it hard to find cards for men that are simple, but classy.

I decided to make some so that next time I need to give a gift to someone of the male variety, I'd a nice card!

I didn't add instructions as I'm sure all you clever DIYers can figure it out from the pictures.

They turned out exactly as I wanted and they are so simple to create. I decided to do them in black & white which is always classy (I think navy & white would be nice as well).

I did a mixture of moustaches, top hats and stars. I also did a kiss/hug (XO) one for my hubby and a googly eye one for if I was giving a fun gift.

Enjoy :).
